EDUCATE ME

• System airflow has to be a specific amount or the limit switch will shut off the gas when the chamber gets too hot. Check the FILTER, RETURN AIR, EVAPORATOR COILS and DUCTS for problems. It is not likely the limit switch is faulty.
• Fan and limit switch combination controls are on some units and if the fan part of it is not turning on the fan properly, then the limit switch will cycle the heat off and on. Watch for this and re-adjust the temperature setting or replace the control as needed.
• Heat anticipator set too low on the thermostat. Move the graduation to a much larger number and later lower it in small increments until it is okay. See also Page Two of Thermostats for details of adjusting the heat anticipator.

• Loose wire connection to the automatic gas valve or safety switches can cause sporadic on and off of the main burners, too.
• Excessive gas pressure may be overheating the chamber and it will cycle on the limit control. Call a service technician.
